There’s not so much to say about me.. When i was 5, i remember i already loved to draw and play my small piano:
i will never forgot that day in late 1980, when the earth shaked.. i was playing a song to my cousin, suddendly
everything start trembling around, and we realized it was an earthquake.. and frentically ran outside the house.
But drawing has always been my first love. Though, due to other “more important” things to do for school, i always
had to put it a bit aside.. except for the first two years of secondary school. It was so damn fun. My primary school
knowledge allowed me not to study that much, and so i spent most of the time drawing with my coloured pencils:
a brown bear in the middle of a forrest, two wild ducks flirting in a lake, the “Gremlins” Poster, a tiger coming
down from a rock near a river with his baby in the mouth.. golden years for my greatest “hobby”.
And together with the drawing, i started taking piano lessons too.. which i had to abandon few years later,
before the last year at secondary school.. those years were harder, damn!
University years had been the best time of my life. Till today.. I’ve never had so much fun with friends.. never
had such a friends.. I also learnt to play guitar, more handy than a piano (missing it so much when i was 300km far
from home, that is the whole year except for 3 months..) and Maths wasn’t that ugly either. Yeah maths! I loved it and
still do (some of its aspects..? not everything of course :P ). And from 1993 i started my life far from my family.. first in
a Christian college, later in an apartment with other girls. Some of them have been the cutest, some others.. the big dancing
shit of this world.. but i learnt from those experiences, too. Those were also the years in which i found my soulmate, my big love,
my greatest lover. Fra :)
In 2000, I took my Ph. D. in Mathematics at the University “La Sapienza”, in Rome. “A variational model for image segmentation”
was the title of my thesis. Interesting argument. The end of an era.. a great one.. and the beginning of another: finding a fucking job!
From july 2000 to july 2002 i worked as programmer at IAC (Institute for the Applications of Calculus), CNR
(National Council of Research). Sometimes fun, sometimes really stressing. And so i left.. I thought that maybe teaching
would have been more interesting (and relaxing).. and here i am.. going to make my exam to access the 2-years-of-specialization
and be able to teach: i gotta be teached on how to teach. Simple and necessary. Too many teachers have so much potential, but are
really unable to do that. And i hope not to make this mistake, whenever i’ll start teaching. maths. physics. maybe computer science.
On October 2003 I married my beautiful husband, Fra. Living each day with him is always different from the previous one.. I might
say he is definitely my other half (and I believe that “half and half makes one”) :D
In 2004-2006, I studied to teach Computer Science in Secondary School..?It’s been a great experience and met some good new friends
and teachers there.
In July 2006, a new component joined our little family: Barone, my sweet crazy red cat! What we still didn’t know was that he
wasn’t the only new entry..
2007. The new year brought someone new: my daughter Viola (as I am writing now) will born in 10 days (maybe less, maybe more).
So yes, I’m becoming a mother, too..
That’s all from me,
hugs
Rosy
